Commanders'
Report

I will save most of my comments for the Camp News section but will just say that I am very proud of this Camp and
it's members and that this last year was
a great experience for me as your
Commander. I look forward to a new
year and all that we have the
opportunity to accomplish. Ours is
indeed a "Heritage of Honor" and is up
to us to preserve it. Carry on and
forward men and lets take the fight to
the enemy. DEO VINDICE,
                              Sam

CampNews
Happy New Year to all and I hope all had a very Merry Christmas. Our
charter year is now history and we
must all forge forward into the
upcoming year. We closed out '03 with
10 new members including Honorable
Mr. Dewey Barber who was inducted as
a life member in November by our
Georgia Division Commander Jack
Bridwell and appointed a 1st Lt. in
charge of Heritage Defense for our
Camp. He has hit the ground running
with this issue and has several new
proposals in the works dealing with our
heritage issues. We have sent 9 more

packets of paperwork to Division and IHQ. These new members will include:
Rex Anderson, Nahunta; Doug Bryan, Jesup; Joe Eubanks, Jesup; Mark "Gator" Haynes, Nahunta; David L. Knox, Brunswick; Ronnie Lavender, Owings, MD.; Larry Mercer, Valdosta; John H. Zorn [{1, Darien; Steven Padgett, Nahunta.
We held our first meeting in Jesup on December 18th at the Wayne County Public Library with more than a few members in attendance but a very low turnout of prospects most likely due to the upcoming holidays. We will meet in Jesup again this month on the 4th Thursday at Memorial Baptist Church on Hwy 301 S. at 7:30 pm. Any member who would like to attend is invited and hopefully bring a prospect. Wayne County is wide open and has shown a lot of support for us during our flagging there and also during the Confederate Celebration in November. Chaplain Tom is hard at work recruiting there now so lets give him every bit of help we can.
I was contacted recently by IHQ to let me know that our National Camp Dues are due this month (January) and have to be in by the 1st of February or who ever is not in by that time will be taken off the roster and charged an additional $5 to be reinstated.
