"Behind Enemy Lines"

Commander Sir, and members of the camp,

It has been fairly quiet here of late in the land of Ape Lincoln, there are however, a few things to report on. The captured flags situation, wains on and on, of course none involved had any thoughts that this would be a quick and easy victory. I do believe however with all my heart that a victory will come and those sacred flags will return to their homes.
We have had minor success up here of late with the Boycott Coke campaign. Seems the signs on our lawn created enough interest for folks to at least ask us questions as to what it is about. Of course our real friends up here joined the boycott and some have been instrumental in passing the word along to their friends as well.

I am also happy to report that 4 more Confederate flags have gone up here in the county. I believe we might possibly be able to put a few more up provided I can find the funds. As ya'll know they dont come for free, cheap maybe but not free. In fact the flags at the Confederate Memorial here are themselves in need of replacement. Lijah Coleman gave us a replacement 56 GA. flag to go up, and Colorado Div. Commander cuzin Nick is sending a new 1st National, but that leaves space for 3 other flags, so if anyone has a new 2nd or 3rd National laying around, or a Bonnie Blue, of a Confederate seal flag, then please pass it along and we will fly it loud and proud . The memorial continues to draw visitors, we have worked really hard to keep the area up , and the grass around it green despite the near daily 90 degree temps. We have enlarged the parking area it will now hold 5 cars instead of 2 at a time. We still hope to be able to light the 3 flag poles and the memorial stone itself, as well as put in a couple of concrete sitting benches. The lady here in Bridgeport who sells concrete lawn items has agreed to sell me the benches at her cost, and considering she is not from the South, I find this most encouraging.

In closing I would like to report that I am currently trying to recruit 3 new members for 2022. This would allow us to once again enjoy the fellowship of a camp meeting up here, something Pam , Mayme , and myself have all missed since I resigned from the Illinois Division. We only missed 2 camp meetings in 3 years despite it being a 5 hour round trip drive to camp. When ya get use to things being a real part of your life (like camp was to us) well, they are really missed when they no longer happen. To those headed for Dalton, I send prayers for safe travel to and from, and best wishes for a successful reunion.

          Warmest regards,
          T Warren
