Nahunta Meeting July 14

After starting at our normal time of 15 minutes late, after Invocation we had three of the four canidates for Ga senate give a short speech and a question and answer period. There were several good questions posed and some stimulating answers.

Moving into our business meeting, we swore in two new members compatroits Thomas Farmer and David Knox (a direct decendent of our own Capt James Knox)


Also compatroit Larry Mercer was awarded the SCV War Service medal for his Vietnam Service.



The Commander gave us a rundown on the Birgade meeting held in Waycross. Another one to be held August 10 at Shoneys all members welcome to discuss an intrabirgade event at Confederate Farms in September.

We had represenitives from the Camden Mounted Rifles and Lt Edward John Kent camps and appreciated their input. Commander Lear presented our library with a copy of Lt Johnsons story along with the history of the CSS atlanta which Lt Kent was the assistant engineer.


Meeting was adjourned with a benediction. Next meeting to be in Jesup on the 22nd.
