      First I would like to say congratulations to all the members of this the Capt. James Knox "Seaboard Guards" Camp #2022. We were officially chartered by the SCV International on 18 April 2003 with 20 members and have since added 4 more members and currently running the applications on 2 others. This is outstanding and we should all be proud.

      Our young Camp is growing and as the membership grows we should be getting more active in the community. People who had seen us out by the roadsides during our flag petitions often approach me and shirt sales and they want to know when we'll be back out there again. People notice us, and our flags, and they

see us being active in the community and when we're not they notice that too. We've got to get back out there and get active agaIn.

      I am growing very concerned with our Camp members lack of action on the part of our Southern Heritage and the attacks we are facing on several fronts daily. Maybe when some joined they failed to read Lt. General Stephen D. Lee's "Charge to the Sons of Confederate Veterans" given in 1906:

      "To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we submit the vindication of the Cause for which we fought; to your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles he loved and which made him glorious and which
