Jerry Watkin's Report of the
Georgia Division Reunion



Friday June 11th,2004: Commander Sam Lyons ,Chaplain/Adjutant Tom Lavender and Myself(Jerry Watkins,Quartermaster) Left for Dalton Georgia to attend the 107th Annual Georgia Division Reunion.

We arrived that evening around 7pm and checked into the Wingate Inn then went to the Convention Center to Register the doors were closed and we found out from other compatriots staying just down the road from us that registration would begin again @ 7:30 am so we headed to supper.


The next day we went to Register and attend the First Business Session. Among the discussions was the location of next years Division Reunion in Savannah,GA . Sam Lyons Volunteered for Camp #2022 to host the reunion in the future around 2010.

At 9:30 am The Opening Ceremony the Honor Guard presented the Colors




 

There were various speaker, Jim Dean from Heritage TV discussing the importance of getting the school age children educated and southern books into the schools.

After Dinner we went back at 2pm to Vote for the Amendments and Candidates for Division Offices. After we voted we three went to Chickamauga Battlefield to look around before it closed at 4pm.

For the Sunday Morning Memorial Service we had a big crowd of four, for our service Chaplain Tom ,Commander #2022 Sam, Ga Division Commander Jack Bridewell, and Myself.

After visiting the cemetery we went to the Convention Center to attend the Executive Council Meeting as observers. Where newly re-elected Divison Commander Jack Bridewell introduced his agenda for his term
