you also cherish. Remember, it is your duty to see that the true history of the South is presented to future generations. " This is the Mission Statement of the SCV and everything we as members stand for. We are all basically family in that we all share true Confederate blood coursing through our . vems. We all should be honored to be descended from the heroes of our Southern Heritage and we should be damn proud to stand up for their honor and memory . It is our "duty to see that the true history of the South is presented to future generations." That future is now! We are under attack as Southerners and our ancestors "good name" has to be defended. We are not like other organizations where you are just a "member" ; here you are a blood descendant of the very subject that we as an organization were founded in honor of. This is not just a club; this is your duty and the honor and defense of your family as you joined under the good name of your Confederate ancestor. When you feel like sitting on your hands and letting others defend your grandfather's honor you better pullout Lt. Gen. Lee's Charge and read it again. Every time I have an opportunity to talk one on one with a "hand sitter" I always like |
to ask him one simple question, "if someone walked up to your grandfather, right in front of your face, and spit on him and called him every fowl name they could think of and then slapped him in the face what would you do ?" Most folks say they would beat the daylights right out of them but then I point out the fact that it's happening every day and we just sit on our hands and let it happen because it isn't
happening in our house in front of us. I, for one, refuse to just sit passively by while my beloved Southern Heritage is being trashed and my ancestors memory is tainted by ignorant racist groups who continue to commit "cultural genocide" on anything Southern. Maybe when they make eating grit's a "hate crime" you'll jump up and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Where does it all have to lead to get us to stand up for our heritage and our honor as Southerners? Do we have to lose it all and when it's too late then we stand up ? What will ( or do ) our children and grandchildren think of us? Will they think we are cowards with no backbone to stand up for our honor? Will they be ashamed of us because we are leaving it for them to fight for?
