On Saturday, September 11, re-enactors from Co's K and D, 26th Georgia Infantry and the Capt James Knox Camp #2022 attended drill practice in Waynesville at the Confederate Memorial Park. The members met at 2pm and formed up to Drill. Several Members came in period uniforms of the Confederacy. Those with out Rifles were loaned ones to Drill with for the afternoon. They were taught out of the Hardee's Manual of Drill from the 1800's. Movements learned were facing, forming up, loading the blackpowder rifle, Firing the rifle in formation, and Inspection drill. The re-enactors were marched around the Cemetary practicing for the upcoming Confederate Grave Marker Dedication on the 25th being put on by the Ladies of the UDC Lawton-Gordon-Evans Brigade #2637, Nahunta Chapter. Those not attending the Dedication will be attending the Re-enactment at Old Bethel Church near Pavo that weekend of the 24th-26th.
